Born and raised on a farm in
Iowa, Kenny had first hand experience with crows, especially
in feed lots where his father lost 400 head of hogs due to
disease, thanks to the crows. After a tour of duty in
Germany with a Hawk Missile battery (no crows), Kenny
returned to the states and began his lifelong pursuit of
crow hunting. He has hunted crows for 22 years and has been
a professional guide for 11 years. Having tallied more than
53,000
crows, Kenny has managed to take 25,000 in the
last 10 years.
Kenny outfits out of Kellogg,
Iowa and has access to 14 different farms, insuring a
constant supply of potential targets. Most hunts are
conducted from about 2:30 in the afternoon til dark and
Kenny can handle up to 4 clients at a time. The season in
Iowa lasts 112 days and Kenny averages
50 birds per day. Keep in mind that his average
includes all weather days. Many days see the number of crows
taken much higher. Kenny handles approximately 100 hunters
per year and charges $85 per hunter per day. For more
