 Samples
of crows were needed during the past the winter to test
for the virus. On two mornings, Gordon Krause and Doug
Wigfield, founders of CROW BUSTERS, collected crows for
the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, Wildlife
and Heritage Division. Over 125
crows were taken and turned over to vets from the Maryland
Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. The resulting
blood samples were sent to the USGS National Wildlife
Health Center in cooperation with the Centers for Disease
Control (CDC) where all tested negative for the virus.
Testing
may continue as requested.
